"I’m a David Cronenberg fan and that’s mostly due to Videodrome which is easily one of my very favorite films of all time. It recently ran at the IFC Center here in New York and I went to see it like 3 nights in a row at midnight while on acid. It was during one of my A train rides home that I got the idea to use that image of Max with his head inside the tv. Not exactly an epiphany since the A train to Brooklyn at that hour, especially in the condition I was in, can feel a lot like Videodrome anyway.

I’ve been a Pink Siifu fan since I first heard “Ensley” in 2018 and he remains on a super short list of artists I always check for in terms of releases and features. It’s a long story, but I made the beat for “Look Around” when COVID first hit, while temporarily living in a small apartment in downtown Cincinnati which is where he grew up. That city and that period of time both mean a lot to me so when I finally got the chance to connect with him, I really hoped we could make a song out of something I created while living there."
